How and Why Should I Pray? – Nicky Gumbel

This week is all about prayer, I have been looking forward to this week and the upcoming week from the perspective of wanting to know what other people think, hearing other people’ss tories and being able to share my experiences and just helping each other to move forward.

Song Of The Day: Holding Me Down.

Song Of The Day:

Chris Howland ft Montell Fish & Sarah Juers – Holding Me Down

Matthew 11:15
15 Whoever has ears, let them hear.

Good God, it’s holding me down,
Cuz in the midst of my trials
I got a smile on my face,
Cuz God is in His place,
And I’m not trippin, no way

I know that life moves so fast,
So my eyes are fixed on you God
I know these trials won’t last,
My life is hid with you God

Gotta let go, no you gotta let go (x3)
Gotta let go, and let God take control

Week Four – How Can I Have Faith?

Hebrews 11:1 (ESV)
11 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.

Alpha Week 4 – How Can I Have Faith? | Emily Layzell

Week One, Two & Three are here for you to read and catch up with the conversation. I was really looking forward to week four because I was excited to hear how other people have faith because mine has been really faltering lately. I was really looking forward to it and it didn’t actually disappoint as far as the lesson itself goes. The discussion after was somewhat confusing, that’s what I will say for now. The video I watched for week four was led by Nicky himself but this youtube version is spoken by Emily Layzell, it’s exactly the same apart from their lived experiences and examples of course. Lets dive in…

Dear Manchester.

Dear Manchester.

John 16:33 (ESV)
33 I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”

My heart keeps breaking for Manchester today.
I pray that the people who have been affected by this attack have peace, true inner peace that only God can give them. I also pray that all who haven’t yet been found are found by their families and they receive the peace that they need. I pray that the Bible believing Christians in that city and around it do all they can to ensure that the city heals from this tragedy.

Week Two – Who Is Jesus?

John 14:6 (ESV)
6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

Who Is Jesus? – Nicky Gumbel

If you haven’t read or watched week one, here’s the link. Week one was about “is there more to life than this?” With it being the first week of the session I think I kind of went into it with some expectations but I thought that I had no expectations and was left feeling disappointed. But it’s a great place to start in terms of understanding our relationship with God. Nicky talks about his own journey from “Jewish atheist” to Christian.

Song Of The Night: Your Promises.

Song Of The Night:

Elevation Worship – Your Promises.

Matthew 11:15
15 Whoever has ears, let them hear.

When the weight of the world begins to fall
On the Name of Jesus I will call
For I know my God is in control
and His purpose is unshakable
Doesn’t matter what I feel
Doesn’t matter what I see
My hope will always be
In Your promises to me
Now I’m casting out all fear
For Your love has set me free
My hope will always be
In Your promises to me
